My name is Jason James. I built and operate The Maple Rose Barbershop. I attended barber school in 2013, and have been lucky enough to support my self as a barber since. I truly love what I do, and I hope that comes through in my work. In a way, the pandemic brought me back to what I like to call the BRIM (Bloomingdale, Roselle, Itasca, Medinah). My Dad’s parents moved from the Northside, to Roselle in the 50’s, and my Mom’s Parents came to Bloomingdale from the Southside, around the Same time. I went to Lake Park Highschool (mostly) and lived and worked on the Northside of Chicago for about 20 years. Just before March, the year everything shut down, I purchased and for the most part, rebuilt, my Grand Parents’ house in Bloomingdale. If you would have told me, ten years ago, that I’d be opening a shop in the store front I got my pants hemmed in as a kid, I’d of never believed you, but here we are! I’m a true believer in that if you focus on the community, the business follows, and that’s exactly what I plan on doing. Come say hi!
